The Tour Divide
What is the Tour Divide?
The Tour Divide is a self-supported mountain bike race that follows the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route (GDMBR) from Banff, Alberta, Canada to Antelope Wells, New Mexico, USA. The route covers approximately 4,300 km (2,745 miles) of mostly off-road terrain, with more than 60,000 meters (200,000 feet) of climbing along the way.
The Divide is an individual time trial and not an organized race. There are no aid stations, support crews or race officials, and riders must carry all their food, water, and supplies with them.
The Tour Divide is considered one of the toughest endurance mountain bike races in the world, attracting riders from all over the globe who are seeking an epic challenge. The race takes place annually in June and has become a legendary event in the mountain bike racing community.
